The Project
The Teacher Cadet program is designed to expose talented high school juniors and seniors to the professional field of Education. This program offers dual-enrollment, where a student can receive both high school and college credit for completing the course. Currently, with tuition and fees, it costs over 200 dollars for a student to participate as a teacher cadet. Through this initiative we wish to fundraise in hopes of providing the means for more students from diverse backgrounds to participate in this program.
Who We Are
The USC Teacher Cadet College Partnership, housed in the College of Education provides instructional assistance and material support to our partner schools. Under general guidance from the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), the primary goal of this initiative is to encourage academically talented, high-achieving, high school students with exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills to consider teaching as a career. An important secondary goal of the Program is to develop future community leaders who will become civic advocates for public education. Currently the University of South Carolina College of Education partners with 12 Columbia area high schools, where upon completion of the course, students receive 3 hours of college credit.
The Impact
We aim to improve high school student’s insight into the nature of teaching, the problems of schooling, and the critical issues affecting the quality of education in America's schools.
We are supporting education, the teaching profession and the need for more teachers in South Carolina
We encourage the relationship between PK-12 and higher education communities to continue developing meaningful and positive outcomes for the students and stakeholders of South Carolina.

What Your Gifts Will Do
Each contribution made to this campaign will go directly to assisting in the success of the Teacher Cadet College Partnership, either through funding participation of students or by providing much needed support for programmatic supplies and expense.
Thank You!
Without the support of our contributors we would face a tremendous hurdle to providing the high-quality programming that is associated with the University of South Carolina College of Education. We are tremendously grateful for all the assistance that is provided and cannot express our thanks enough.
