WUSC needs help in meeting our fundraising goal so we can continue to provide original programming to the Carolina community and beyond! WUSC-FM Who We Are WUSC was the first free-format, non-commercial radio station to hit the air in Columbia. Born in 1947, our station delivers a continuous broadcast of original programming that can’t be found anywhere else. We are completely student-run and feature an array of shows curated by the students, alumni, faculty, and staff of USC. Our station reaches thousands of listeners in our 45-mile broadcast radius, and even more via our website and the TuneIn Radio app. Our DJs are dedicated to the encouragement and spread of independent music locally made and nationally-distributed, all in the name of educating the listener and the DJ. Our WUSC Around the World-themed Fundraiser Week will run from October 18th - October 24th. The Impact WUSC provides students with the opportunity to learn the mechanics of being on-air and the logistics of running an entire station. Students can gain technical and leadership skills that will make them more valuable in the workforce. WUSC supports local artists and the interest and engagement of students in music and broadcast journalism. In addition to our commitment to giving local artists on-air exposure, we also coordinate several concerts a semester in conjunction with local businesses to showcase the amazing talent within our community. WUSC enriches the local community. With our regular public events and shows and our collaborative efforts with other community organizations and businesses, we have established a dedicated listenership and strive to continue providing programming that can’t be found anywhere else. What Your Gifts Will Do As we are a non-commercial, student-run station, we rely on donations and underwriting to stay on the air. With our licensing fees rising annually and the 70-year legacy of our station showing in some equipment, we need our listener’s support to continue to provide the quality of programming we hope to. As a station, we are in a position of incredible growth, and in order to grow while continuing our maintenance, we require your support. Thank you for your support! Without the support of our community, WUSC would not be able to provide Columbia and our surrounding area with unique programming and provide Carolina's students with real-world radio experience.

Help Floyd School of Medicine, MD Class of 1998 raise $50,000 to name two Clinical Skills Exam and Observation Rooms in the new Health Sciences Building. Floyd School of Medicine One Class. One Challenge. Multiple Years of Impact More than three decades ago, the Class of 1998 began its medical school journey—learning the fundamentals of patient care, building lifelong friendships, and preparing for careers in medicine. Today, you have an opportunity to help prepare the next generation of physicians. Drs. David and Jennifer Amrol '98 have launched the Class of 1998 Challenge with a leadership gift of $10,000 and invite classmates to come together to raise $50,000 by October 31. Reaching this goal will name two Clinical Skills Exam and Observation Rooms in the new Health Sciences Building in honor of the Class of ’98. These rooms will be where medical students practice patient interviews, physical exams, communication, clinical reasoning, and the skills that build confidence before they care for patients in real clinical settings.
