Our Crowdfunding Groups
Each April, the Carolina Girls Dance Team travels to Daytona Beach, Florida, to compete against some of the nation's top dance teams at the National Dance Alliance's Collegiate Championship. The team relies on the support of annual sponsors to finance expenses for this event. Our goal is to raise $15,000 through contributions, both large and small, to assist in financing the team’s trip.
If you’ve attended a South Carolina home football or basketball game, you’ve likely seen the Carolina Girls Dance Team performing on the sidelines of Williams-Brice Stadium or during timeouts at Colonial Life Arena. What you may not realize is that all of the dancers on the team have been training for the majority of their lives. They are talented athletes, as well as artists, who have spent years performing on stages all over the country with various competitive dance programs. Each dancer chose to audition for the dance team at the University of South Carolina, not only to support Gamecock Athletics, but also to continue their passion and be part of a competitive team.
This season’s trip will be the Carolina Girls’ 11th trip to Daytona Beach for NDA College Nationals. Representing the University of South Carolina on this national stage is a great honor and the Carolina Girls are proud to have placed in the top five for the last eight seasons. The team most recently placed 3rd in Division 1A Jazz at the 2017 Championship.
The members of the Carolina Girls Dance Team are all ambassadors of the University of South Carolina and the Department of Athletics. They represent the spirit and pride of our University and they excel in the classroom, as well as the performance arena. Having the opportunity to bring national recognition to USC through this competition brings another layer of excellence not only to the Carolina Girls program, but to the institution as a whole. With one of the most talented groups in Carolina Girls history, the team has a great opportunity to be successful at the 2018 championship this April!
Each contribution made to this campaign will go directly toward funding various competition-related expenses, including registration fees, lodging, transportation, meals, choreography, music and costumes. Every donation counts! This opportunity would not be possible without the support of generous donors like you.
