KTP Professional Development & Tech for Good Fund
Description
Kappa Theta Pi is the University of South Carolina’s professional technology fraternity. We bring students together through a shared interest in technology and help them build the technical, leadership and career-readiness skills needed to succeed in a changing industry.
Some of the most valuable learning happens beyond the classroom. Technology conferences give students opportunities to hear from industry leaders, explore emerging technologies and participate in professional workshops. They also offer a chance to meet recruiters and connect with professionals who can share firsthand insight into careers in technology.
For students preparing to enter the workforce, these experiences can help turn an interest into a clearer career direction. A conversation with a professional may introduce a student to a role they had never considered. A workshop can help them connect classroom concepts with real-world challenges. Meeting peers and potential employers gives students practice sharing their interests, asking thoughtful questions and building professional relationships.
But attending a conference comes with costs. Registration fees, transportation and lodging can quickly add up, placing these opportunities out of reach for students already balancing tuition, living expenses and other commitments.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help Kappa Theta Pi members attend technology conferences and other professional-development opportunities. Your gift will help offset these expenses and reduce the financial barriers that can keep students from participating.
Your support is an investment in what students bring home, too: new knowledge, greater confidence and professional connections they can continue to build throughout their time at USC and beyond. Members can share what they learn with one another, helping strengthen a community of students preparing for their next steps in technology.
Make a gift today to help Kappa Theta Pi members learn, connect and prepare for their futures. Please share this campaign with friends, family and anyone who believes in expanding opportunities for USC’s future technology professionals.
