Raising Colorectal Cancer Awareness–One Cup at a Time
Description
Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death among people under the age of 50–and too many young people do not realize they may be at risk.
Traditionally, colorectal cancer was thought of as a disease of older individuals, but being young does not make someone immune. Many young adults don’t know much about colorectal cancer, or it’s signs and symptoms. We aim to change that with an awareness campaign that will reach people of all ages and help them understand their risks for colorectal cancer.
During Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, we are partnering with local coffee shops across South Carolina to spread awareness of the disease. Your donations will help provide them with beverage sleeves, stickers, and posters that link to important information about colorectal cancer, the signs and symptoms, and a risk assessment quiz, encouraging customers to “Be Cheeky” about colorectal cancer prevention.
