Passing It On: 40 days for 40 years
Our Story. Our Students. Our Future.
In 1985, the USC School of Medicine Columbia launched the Southeast's first Genetic Counseling Program with a bold vision: to elevate genetic care and empower compassionate professionals to serve their communities. Forty years later, we've grown to become a national leader, training 273 genetic counselors and creating a legacy defined by empathy, expertise and enduring impact.
To celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join Passing It On — a 40-day campaign to raise $14,400 in support of our future and to honor the four decades that shaped our past. That's $40 for each student (9 per class) across the next 40 years of impact.
Choose from four different giving levels, each reflecting a meaningful part of our story.
- Legacy Spark: A spark for every future student for the next 40 years
- Alumni Honor Roll: One dollar for every graduate who's carried our mission forward
- Mentor's Mark: A tribute to the 720 hours of clinical training that shape our students
- Founders Circle: A visionary gift reflecting the year our journey began
Support an initiative that will:
- Champion the next generation of genetic counselors through scholarships
- Strengthen our endowment to provide lasting financial aid
- Fuel transformative innovation in education, research and service
Whether you're honoring a graduate, a mentor, or the journey itself, every gift in Passing It On—big or small—helps us carry our legacy forward.
