The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia White Coat Ceremony celebrates an important milestone in the lives of our first-year medical students. This significant ceremony serves to welcome each new class of students and provides a powerful emphasis on compassion in combination with clinical excellence. During the ceremony, students pledge their commitment to medicine and to the health of the patients they will serve, and receive their first white coat as a symbol of their entry into the profession. They also receive their first tool – the stethoscope.
We invite our passionate alumni family to play a key role in these “firsts” for our medical students by sponsoring a white coat and/or stethoscope. Alumni may also provide notes of encouragement that will be placed in the coat pocket or stethoscope box for the student. Your sponsorship is an impactful investment in these future doctors and colleagues, and we appreciate your support as they embark on the pursuit of following in your footsteps.
Sponsor one coat and one stethoscope with your donation of $255.
