The Project
Each April, the Carolina Girls Dance Team travels to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete against some of the nation's top dance teams at the National Dance Alliance's Collegiate Championship. The team relies on the support of annual sponsors, as well as several other fundraising initiatives, to finance expenses for this event. Our goal is to raise $12,000 through donor contributions, both large and small, to assist in financing the team’s trip.
Who We Are
If you’ve attended a South Carolina football or basketball game, you’ve likely seen the Carolina Girls Dance Team performing at Williams-Brice Stadium or Colonial Life Arena. What you may not realize is that these dancers have spent most of their lives training and competing in dance all over the country. Each team member chose to attend the University of South Carolina and join the Carolina Girls not only to be a part of the spirit program, but also to continue their passion and be part of a competitive team.
Representing the University of South Carolina on this national stage is a great honor and the Carolina Girls are proud to have placed in the top five every year since 2009. Last season, the team earned their second national title, returning to Columbia as back-to-back Division 1A Team Performance Champions.
The Impact
The Carolina Girls are ambassadors of the University of South Carolina and the Department of Athletics, and they excel both academically and athletically. Having the opportunity to bring national recognition to South Carolina through this competition brings another layer of excellence not only to the Carolina Girls program, but to the university as a whole. This year's team is incredibly talented and working hard to bring home another championship this April!
What Your Gifts Will Do
Each contribution made to this campaign will go directly toward funding various competition-related expenses, including registration fees, lodging, transportation, meals, choreography, music and costumes. Every donation counts! This opportunity would not be possible without the support of generous donors like you. Your gift will pay for a costume for one dancer to wear on the Nationals stage.
Your gift will cover the cost of one hotel room for the 4-night trip in Daytona Beach.
