The University of South Carolina Moving Image Research Collections is hiring two post-production technicians to work exclusively on digitizing the U.S. Marine Corps Film archive. These full-time, temporary positions are funded by a generous donation from the Parris Island Historical & Museum Society and are eligible for benefits. The positions are designated for one year with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Thank you for the incredible support of the U.S. Marine Corps Film Repository! Because of your generous donations, Moving Image Research Collections has completed its mission to raise more than $25,000 in just 30 days to digitize the Parris Island footage in the collection.
Once the films are scanned, we will create a website that will allow you to view the films free-of-charge. We also want you to share any details about the people, places, and activities in the films on the interactive website.
The Parris Island films are just a small part of a larger $2 million campaign to digitize the entire 1,800 hours in the Marine Corps film collection. To learn more about this project, visit the website at library.sc.edu/MarineCorps.

Over the holiday week, we counted our blessings and gave thanks for our men and women in uniform. Our goal with this project is to give something back to those that have given so much in service to their country. Each dollar given to this campaign will be spent to digitize and make the Marine Corps film history freely available online. Help us tell the amazing story of the few, the proud, the Marines!
Every donation gets us closer to our goal. Join the mission today and make your contribution count!

Thanks to all of our generous donors who contributed during the first ten days of the campaign! We appreciate your contributions and ask that you tell your friends and family about this important project.
We have been out talking to the community about the U.S. Marine Corps films since our launch on Veterans Day, and have been blown away by the enthusiastic response. We have especially loved meeting Marines and hearing their stories. It is our hope that once these films are digitized and available online that the community will help us identify faces and places in the footage. We can’t wait for the day when someone sees himself or herself in the films!
A donation of $20 digitizes one minute of film. Help us get another minute paid for. Every tax-deductible donation matters. Join the mission!
