Tiger Burn is the USC annual pep rally prior to the Clemson/Carolina football game every November that is attended by both students and alumni. The event features a three-story wooden tiger that students burn to the ground! The event also includes members of athletic teams, Cocky, the USC cheerleaders and dance team, Carolina Marching Band, student performance groups, musical entertainment, and a tongue-and-cheek eulogy.
For more than 12 years, South Carolina's "tiger" has been designed and built by a group of students from the USC student chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Previous tigers have included moving parts on a body that has extended into the night sky more than 30 feet.
Few university events at USC parallel the longstanding tradition of Tiger Burn. This annual celebration truly embodies campus engagement and community building throughout campus and the Carolina Community. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni come together to celebrate our beloved rivalry with Clemson while showcasing campus tradition at its finest. Take part in this tradition with your gift today!
Any funds raised will help offset the cost of the Tiger Burn, allowing Student Life to expand student services and promote other campus-wide initiatives.
