The Project
The Honors College has always been about more than what happens in class and the experience on campus is just the starting point; for exploration, self-discovery and learning outside the gates of campus. Today's issues and opportunities take place on a global scale and to prepare the next generation of leaders, providing broader perspectives is crucial.
Honors students are required to engage in at least one beyond the classroom experience, whether that be studying abroad, having an internship, taking a service learning class or conducting a research project. As many of our recent graduates experienced themselves, studying away is one of the most popular and flexible options for satisfying this requirement. From an Honors College Maymester to a full year abroad, there are many opportunities to grow as a global citizen.
The Impact of Your Gift
No matter the interest, some students are not able to bear the financial burden of time away from campus. In addition to the cost of tuition, travel, passports, and other associated costs can put studying abroad out of reach.
With the support of our passionate Young Alumni base, we will provide financial backing for a student's study away experience, particularly a student whose trip would not be possible without the added funding. This is a tremendous opportunity for Honors graduates to give back, lend a hand, and make a current student's experience complete. We ask you consider a minimum gift of $50, which will grant you membership to the Young Alumni Dean's Circle, as well as Honors College merchandise and invites to future events.
Giving at this level will support an Honors student's study abroad trip and you will receive a handwritten "thank you" note from the Honors College staff.
