Health Needs Assessment of Unaccompanied Minors in Cyprus

We have an amazing opportunity to partner with Hope for Children, a non-profit in Cyprus that takes care of adolescent boys who are seeking asylum in the European Union.  Many of these young men have travel across Africa and from Syria without their parents or family to Cyprus in hopes of a better life.  We will be leading a research study, using focus groups, to assess the health needs of these young men as they transition from the group home setting into independent adulthood.

The goal of this research is to develop interventions that would equip these young men with health knowledge and empower them to take active ownership of their own health.

This project is in collaboration with University of South Carolina Schools of Social Work, Public Health and Medicine.  Your monetary gift will help support travel and research needs. Thank you for your support, no gift is too small or too large!  We look forward to our trip January 23rd - January 30th, 2019.
